Over the past few years many companies have turned to server consolidation to help control server crawl (i.e., rapidly growing number of servers in their organization) and to meet their growing IT processing needs. HP made a strategic decision to consolidate its high performance server product line by replacing servers based on PA-RISC and Alpha® chips with HP Integrity® servers (which are based on Intel’s® Itanium® processor).
